About the event

Eye Am Counseling invites you,

Start the New Year with reflection on your patterns and experiences of the past. Build an awareness of those aspects that you want to (or don’t want to!) bring into 2023.  Three days of conscious resetting and renewing energy and intention to move forward  into the New Year with more ease and confidence.

Take the time to care for, identify and honor your personal process and needs. Develop a new relationship with an illness, addiction, depression, anxiety or anything that may need attention, healing, support or expansion. This could include relationship and communication skills to improve connections at home or at work. We will be exploring paths toward intimacy and the value of vulnerability, boundaries and the ability to express yourself.

Maureen Shillington and Vicky Frederikson are the Program Facilitators. Both are graduates from Heaven Institute, a leading edge educational center in Canada. Emphasis on studies and qualifications are based in Relational Psychology.

Vicky has been assisting at Haven and has worked very closely with the late Dr. Maria Gomori and continues to share the knowledge of world renowned psychologist of Family Systems, Virginia Satir. As such, Vicki's expertise with large and small groups is extensive and reaches out to places like China, across the globe and now Costa Rica!

Maureen has had an active private practice since 2016 in Costa Rica and has expanded her online practice with people worldwide. Having lived closely, worked and studied at Haven for 10 years, Maureen was a student of the founders, Dr.Jock McKeen and Dr. Bennett Wong. Greatly influenced by their philosophy and ethics of group therapy and the Human Potential Movement she has continued studying the work of Dr. Gabor Mate ( also from BC Canada) and Relationship sensation  Esther Perel.

Vicky and Maureen will be bringing to you a set of modalities and experience to stimulate dialogue and widen perspective that will give you the ability to use for the rest of your lives.  We will have a safe  space to practice boundaries, explore core values, understand our ancestral past and develop new relationships with ourselves and others.

“Essentially, we all have the potential to reprogram our brains, expand our horizons and open to places in ourselves that exist but have been kept below the surface, yearning to be known. Vulnerability is our susceptibility to be wounded. This fragility as part of our nature and cannot be escaped. The best our brain can do is to shut down conscious awareness of it. When pain becomes so vast or unbearable it threatens to overwhelm our capacity to function."

- Gabor Mate

"We discovered that the quality of people’s relationships correlated directly with their state of illness or health. People who were isolated or whose relationships were in turmoil seemed to have more illnesses, and when they were ill, they did not cope as well as those who had a harmonious relationship with at least one other person. We hypothesized that by investigating relationships, we could find the keys to illness and health. We began to see that people’s communication skills and relationships issues were much more important than diagnosing specific dis- ease states."

-Bennet Wong and Jock McKeen
